George Karatzias is the new Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. He served as CySEC Vice Chairman from September 2021 to April 2024 and, prior to assuming his duties as Chairman, as an Executive Board Member of the Central Bank of Cyprus. He has extensive experience in investment funds, financial regulation and professional services. From 2011 to 2020, he led the investment funds section at Alter Domus Cyprus. Mr. Karatzias is a Fellow of ACCA and holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Financial Services from the University of Exeter.
