Maria Panayiotou
President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association
Maria Panayiotou is the president of the Cyprus Investment Fund Association (CIFA). She is also the Managing Director and the AML Compliance Officer of GMM Fund Management, an AIFM licensed and regulated by CySEC. Prior to joining GMM Fund Management, she was serving as the Head of the Company Administration of LLPO Law Firm with 15 years of experience in the fields of registration, administration, advising and structuring of companies in various professional sectors and industries and she was the AML Compliance Officer of LLPO Law Firm since 2016 and Compliance Officer’s Assistant of LLPO Law Firm since 2010. She is also approved as a NOMAD for Cyprus Stock Exchange. Mrs. Panayiotou holds an MSc in Finance (University of Cyprus) and a BSc in Economics (University of Cyprus) and she passed the Advanced Examination on Financial Services Legal Framework from the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commissions.

Petros joined KPMG in Cyprus in 2004 and became a Board Member in 2023. At the same time he was appointed as Head of the Asset Management team of the firm. He has assisted and advised clients and family offices with respect to Funds licensing, structuring and administration services. He has also experience in providing audit services to local and international listed and private companies trading in a variety of industry sectors, such as Banking, Insurance, Energy, Mining, Investment Funds, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical, Technology and General Trading. His clientele included companies listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange and Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Petros is the co-founder and vice chairman of the KPMG Cyprus Audit Committee Institute.

Dr. George Theocharides (BΕng (Hons), MBA, PhD) is the Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). He is also the Chairman of the Risk Standing Committee (RSC). The RSC is part of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the successor of the Committee for Economic and Markets Analysis (CEMA), for which Dr. Theocharides served also as Chairman, between March and December 2022. He served as CySEC’s Vice Chairman from July 2020 to September 2021 and was previously a CySEC Board member. He has extensive experience working in the wider financial sector.

Mr. Fekkas has studied at the Université du Droit et de la Santé Lille II in France, where he obtained a degree in Maîtrise d’Administration Economiques et Sociale, as well as a postgraduate degree in International Financial Analysis (DESS Analyste Financier International) from the École Supérieure des Affaires, Lille II. Since 1998, he has developed an extensive professional career in the Greek capital market, holding significant positions such as Head of internal Audit, Head of Regulatory Compliance, Head of Anti-Money Laundering, Head of Risk Management and as Head of Portfolio Management. Additionally, he holds a suitability certificate for Preparation of Analysis on Financial Instruments or Issuers (certificate Δ, delta) from the Hellenic Capital Market Commission and a certification as a derivatives market trader from the Athens Stock Exchange.

Currently investing from VF4 in CEE, South / South East Europe and MENA. VF focuses on Proptech,B2C, Fintech, Energy tech and SaaS while its portfolio consists of >65 portfolio companies. Prior to VF, George spent 4 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London doing Investment Banking. George holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Marine joined from Citi Global Wealth, where she was a Senior Vice President and Investment Specialist. Prior to Citi, Marine spent over 6 years as a Senior Client Portfolio Manager at H2O Asset Management. She started her career as a Prime Brokerage Sales at Société Générale (formerly known as Newedge).

Marine Duverger joined Apollo in October 2024 as a Client Portfolio Manager. In this role Marine covers Apollo’s Private Credit solutions offered to Wealth clients in EMEA. Petros Krappas is a Managing Director at Cambridge Associates. He is based in our London office and is a member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Team. His responsibilities include identifying and monitoring investment firms and their portfolio companies, as well as carrying out due diligence. Additionally, Petros is responsible for analysing market conditions and tracking the private equity and venture capital industry trends. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Petros worked at a private market investor, Pathway Capital Management, where he was a Vice President with a focus on European private equity primary investments and co-investments. Before that, he was a member of the investment team at VenCap International, a UK-based venture capital investor. Petros received a MSc in International Money, Finance, and Investments from Durham University and a BSc in Statistics from University of Piraeus. He is a CFA® charterholder.

Prior to rejoining Euroclear, Nicolas had product management roles at BNY and business development responsibilities at Finastra.

Rishi Muktidoot
Director, Investment Product Strategy, Member of BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS Team), BlackRock
Rishi Muktidoot, Director and product strategist, is a member of the BlackRock Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Within MASS, Mr. Muktidoot is responsible for product management, portfolio and market communications and client servicing across retail and institutional relationships. Mr. Muktidoot earned a BA degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.

Theodoros Loukaidis is the Director General of the Cyprus Research & Innovation Foundation (RIF). Prior to joining RIF in May 2020, Theodoros held strategy and business development roles within large multi-national corporations, including CK Hutchison Holdings Limited and Colt Technology Services Group Limited, a Fidelity Investments Company. He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, UK, an MSc degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College, London and a BEng (Hons), First Class, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST, UK.

Karolina Gosz-Renzi
Head of Business Development Asset Management, Clearstream Fund Centre
Karolina Gosz-Renzi is a Head of Business Development Asset Management at Clearstream, where she leads Clearstream Fund Centre’s sales strategy across multiple dimensions, including distribution, custody, private markets and innovation.
Prior to joining Clearstream in 2021, Karolina spent over a decade in the financial services industry, most recently at the UK’s Central Securities Depository (CSD), promoting operational innovation and successful funds distribution. Karolina also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Securities Industry Management Association.
She holds a joint Master’s Degree in Finance, specializing in Quantitative Assets and Risk Management, from the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, Anglo-American University in Prague, and the University of Economics in Katowice.

Rinkesh Devnani is a Partner in the Financial Services Tax & Regulatory practice, with over 15 years of experience. His core areas of specialization include financial services and private equity. Rinkesh has advised numerous inbound and outbound funds on entry and exit strategies, providing guidance on direct tax and regulatory issues. He has supported clients through various investment and divestment transactions involving Indian securities and has offered counsel on investments in Infrastructure Trusts, domestic pooling vehicles, securitization trusts, and public market exits. He has deep experience in structuring investment vehicles from the perspective of domestic anti-abuse provisions and multilateral instruments. He has assisted clients in obtaining a wide range of regulatory approvals, including foreign investment approvals, registration as foreign venture capital investors, establishment of domestic funds, stockbroker registrations, and setting up of NBFCs, asset reconstruction companies, and entities issuing prepaid payment instruments.

Harry is a certified Asset Manager and currently serves as the General Manager of ECOMMBX Investment, reinforcing the group’s strategic direction and preparing it for the growth ahead. He brings extensive experience from leading international investment and trading firms, backed by a strong track record in asset and project management, particularly within digital wealth platforms and related financial solutions. In his role, Harry oversees Treasury and Investment operations, including the preparation, review, and reporting of all related activities. He is responsible for identifying and assessing strategic and financial risks, as well as executing foreign exchange transactions and investments on behalf of the company. With a forward-looking mindset and the ability to meet the industry's evolving challenges, Harry stands as a valuable pillar within the ECOMMBX Investments leadership.

Demetris Themistocleous

Demetris is a board member of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and a Director of the Fund Services team at PwC Cyprus. Demetris has experience of over fourteen years working in an Assurance and Advisory capacity and is currently servicing various types of collective investment schemes (both local and non-local ones) and fund manager structures, in the licensing, ongoing regulatory compliance, transactions advisory and fund administration space. He holds a BsC in Finance Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham, UK and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Cypriot counterpart ICPAC.

Over the years, he has established himself as a leader and innovator in the entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem of Cyprus, where he is widely recognized for his contribution. Since 2014, he has been leading the KPMG Startup Innovation Lab, supporting entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into successful businesses. He is assisting teams with their strategic and financial planning, going to market and growth strategy, their financial modelling and capital funding process. He hosts and moderates panels on a variety of issues that deal with the entrepreneurial journey and leadership. He also has extensive experience auditing clients across banking, insurance, technology and capital markets and is deeply engaged in alternative finance initiatives, including funds. Within KPMG Cyprus, he leads and contributes to several committees and groups and co-leads the Accounting Advisory group, delivering insights, consultation and training on financial reporting issues both internally and externally. He Chairs the financial services committee of ICPAC.

Panikkos Vakkou is the new Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. He was a non-executive member at CySEC from January 2024 up to his appointment as Vice-Chairman. From September 2022 until May 2024 he was the Director of Operations and Credit Risk Manager at Haogen Technologies. He is also a CFA Charterholder. Previously he was a Director at RiskMatrix, Moody’s Analytics regional partner between 2016 and 2022. He has also an extensive background in banking.

Previously, he served as Manager, Wealth Management and Head, Institutional Clients at Eurobank Cyprus, while he also held various positions in the financial services sector in Cyprus and abroad. He is a CFA charterholder since 2002 and founding member of the CFA Society of Cyprus. He holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and an MBA from the University of Illinois.

Ioannis Petri is the Founder and CEO of Athlos Capital, a leading investment services firm in Cyprus, which also launched Sophic, the first Cypriot fintech platform. Ioannis has extensive experience in the investment sector, having begun his career in 2007 in London as part of the Credit Hybrids and Exotics team at a top-tier international investment bank. In 2009, he returned to Cyprus to establish and lead the Investment Services division of a private bank. In 2016, he founded Athlos Capital and, leveraging his deep expertise in fixed income markets, expanded the firm to include a wealth management division offering a full spectrum of investment services. He holds a degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s in Financial Risk Management from the ICMA Centre at the University of Reading.
